Photographica.org is a great community photoblog where members can upload, discuss and review their own personal photos. Hey, finally something has given me a reason to blow the dust off the old Coolpix 950. And I just made my first post too...woohoo!
Go check it out now, I'm too tired to write about anything else. 'Nite!

After quite some time, I finally have all of the files I needed off of my old computer. Now I just need to gather up the motivation to back them all up. heh.
In other news...the moment a lot of us have been waiting to hear about for quite some time - Simpsons on DVD. Woohoo!
I just got back from spending a little quality time with my mother this evening. I never thought I'd see the day that George Clooney would star in a Coen Brothers film. Yep, that's right...I finally saw O Brother, Where Art Thou? Great movie, great cast and man is it just weird. Of course, would you expect any less from those guys?

Going to the grocery store at eleven o'clock at night really isn't a good idea when you are really hungry. I just got back home with about twenty bags and eighty four dollars worth of items I probably don't need anyway. Except for the oreos and the gallon milk of course. They don't count.

It looks like Heather has moved FOJM (Friends of Jezebel's Mirror) to it's very own domain - www.mirrorproject.com. Go check it out...it's got a spiffy new design and some cool features such as random pics, search and an extensive archive dating back to it's very inception. Keep 'em coming, Baby! (Sorry, I couldn't resist that last line. It's just so darn catchy.)
I attended my cousin's high school commencement this afternoon and sat in the stadium bleachers for nearly two and a half hours in the sweltering heat. It was kind of nostalgic in a way and had me thinking back nearly ten years ago to my own graduation ceremony. As a matter of fact the two events were quite similar. The only thing I really remember about mine is that it was just about as hot and I couldn't wait to get out of there. Now my face is competely sunburned (I look like a lobster) and I have a nasty case of farmer's tan. It was worth seeing my cousin graduate one of four valedictorians in his class though. Congratulations Jeff!
Oh, and if you would please direct your attention to the "Thinking" statement on the right (Arrrrghhh...that burns!). It's a line taken out of a AAA commercial I recently heard on the radio. It involves a couple of scenarios of motorists who utilize different methods of dealing with car troubles. For example - one woman totes around a Scandinavian body builder to help in case of flats and another man always keeps a blowtorch handy in case his door locks become frozen. I think you get the idea. The first time I heard it I was on the verge of tears. Anyway...if you have any inkling of what I'm talking about, please let me know where I can find it (that line has become sort of a running joke around the office)!

Earlier this evening I stopped over to see Amy who is watching Matt's house this week while he is away on business and sat on the couch while we ate our dinner of macaroni and cheese with hot dogs. Afterwards (which is pretty much standard procedure), I headed down into the basement. I don't know why, but I stood there for a moment to take a mental inventory. I guess I never realized how much stuff we had all accumulated throughout the years. Not too bad for a bunch of self-proclaimed hacks:
one semi-working guitar,
one not-exactly-working guitar,
a handful of effects pedals,
one dented trumpet,
one dented trombone,
about three gazillion cords,
one broken keyboard (?),
and a whole mess of other things musically related.
Believe me...I'm sure I missed something.
I'm not really sure what I was getting at there, but I do know that once I plugged in my guitar and started playing I kept thinking of that new guitar I have been so desperately trying to save for...
...I'm only one thousand, two hundred and twenty five dollars away *. Sigh
* Taking in consideration for a replacement computer, speeding ticket, and a few selfishly purchased items (any or all of which can be listed on this line here _____________). Oh. And coffee. I spend a lot on coffee.

Okay. I just downloaded and installed icq on my computer at home since AOL Instant Messenger decides to crash my machine everytime I use it...go figure. So if you want to chat, email me and I'll send you my number.
Other than that...no news is good news.
Take me back up top, baby!
